These lists focus on gifts that spark movement, creativity, and connection — and reflect the wide range of kids we’re shopping for: sporty ones, artsy ones, adventure seekers, quiet creators, beauty lovers, builders, bookworms, and everyone in between. Every kid is different, and we love that. You’ll find thoughtful, on-trend ideas that make holiday gifting easier — and more meaningful — while supporting the small businesses and makers that make the Gorge such a special place to raise a family.
November 19, 2025
Finding gifts for older kids can be… a journey. They’re not little anymore, but they’re also not fully grown — and their tastes seem to evolve daily. Between trends and whatever suddenly becomes the thing, it can feel impossible to keep up.
This year, I’m breaking the gift guide into three parts to keep things simple and actually helpful:
✨ Tween Girls
✨ Teen Girls
✨ Beauty & Self Care Favorites (great ideas for tweens or teens!)
As a mom of a 10- and 11-year-old myself, I’m deep in the tween universe. These guides pull from what my daughter and her friends are loving, what’s trending right now, what’s practical, and what’s actually going to get used beyond Christmas morning.
And the best part? You can find 80–90% of these gifts locally here in the Gorge, so you can support local businesses and check off your holiday list at the same time.
Whether you're shopping for your own kids, nieces, grandkids, or friends of the family, this roundup has something for every personality, price point, and vibe.
Tween Girl Gift Guide
For this guide, I’m classifying tweens as roughly ages 8–12, or about 4th through 6th grade — that in-between stage where they’re part kid, part teen, and full of very specific opinions. Some aren’t quite in the “tween vibe” yet, while others are already leaning into more teen-like styles depending on the kid.

This has been a game changer for my kids. No more having them carry money around they might lose or drop out of a pocket.
