Fruit Loops Art Center

We are a children's art center in Downtown Hood River. We have art and theatre programming for all ages! We also take in art supplies donations, host birthday parties, and participate in community events. Our website is fruitloopsart.com and our instagram is @fruitloopsartcenter.

Summer Camps 2026

All of our K-5 Camps run on a similar schedule! We break for lunch at 11:30ish and eat on the library lawn if the weather is nice! We might play games there too! If we decide to add in a walking field trip or other activity, we will let you know! You can add-on 9-10 or 2-3 per day or for the whole camp :)

K-5 Tie Dye - June 16-18

What's a better way to start your summer than with TIE DYE!  A crowd favorite camp from the last four summers, we're bringing it back and we're eager to get some color explosions on shirts and things. We always block out time for kids to bring items from home and we have some other tie dye projects on our minds. The best way to start summer!  We'll be creating in the art center and visiting the library lawn for lunch and playing. We can't wait! 

K-5 Aerial + Art - June 23-25
We are so excited to offer our first ever all day arts camp in collaboration with Empowered Movement Aerial! This camp combines performing and hands on arts for kids who have a lot of physical and creative energy :)

K-5 Parade - June 30-July 2

This is our third year doing a camp all about our summer highlight- the 4th of July Parade! This camp will be all things parade. We will work on projects for the Fruit Loops Parade Float and might even have a little mini parade at fruit loops! All of the participants of the camp are invited to walk with us in the parade with a parent, sibling, or two and hand out candy on July 4th. 

K-5 Prop (collab w/EMA) -July 7-9

We are so excited to join theatre makers and aeralists for their annual summer performance at Jackson Park! Artists will be designing, creating, and collaborating on props to be used by performers. We'll do lots of painting and take breaks for crafting and playing, of course. This camp is awesome for a kid who loves theatre but doesn't necessarily want perform. There are so many ways to participate in theatre arts! 

K-5 Turtle Tank - July 14-16

Calling all inventors! Do you have an amazing idea you'd like to design and build? Join us for this Shark Tank inspired camp where we'll turn your ideas into imaginative crafted inventions that our aquatic investors are sure to love. 

K-5 Rock Pets in Tiny Town - July 21-23

Design and create your very own perfect pet! If you love painting and creating little homes or habitats then this class is for you. During this class we’ll learn how to design, paint with acrylic, and seal our very own Rock Pets, as well as create their own cozy environment! Campers love the adoption ceremony which is a very special event! <3

K-5 Glue + Goo - July 28-30

Are you looking for art experiences that will engage your senses, ignite your curiosity, and unleash your creativity? Join us in the lab! We're mixing science and art to make some of your favorite tactile art projects like fizzy painting and slime. This camp is perfect for anyone who loves all things gooey and gluey! 

K-5 Process Painting - August 4-6

There are so many ways to get creative with paint! Process painting allows you to break all the rules, go on a journey of inspiration, experience the joy of painting and freedom of self expression. Together we’ll explore different types of paint, tools, techniques, and most importantly build confidence through creative process!

K-5 Clay Cook-Off - August 11-13

Chefs, get ready for the Great Clay Cook Off! During this three day camp, our young chefs will learn basic clay building techniques, create exciting and unique menus, and of course sculpt lots of delicious looking clay food that will be presented on the last day of the camp. If you love playing with clay and the fun of cooking shows, then this is the camp for you! 

K-5 Charms and Keychains: Awesome Accessories! - August 18-20

Join us for some of the most classic crafts of all time! This three day camp will be filled with shrinky dinks, beaded animals, and tons of awesome accessories. You'll learn how to design your very own shrinky dink charms that are perfect for keychains, charm bracelets, necklaces, and more!
