Gorge Perinatal Mental Health Initiative
We are a grant-funded program serving communities in both Oregon and Washington. With the support of our primary funder, we have built the infrastructure for PMHI to provide peer-based support for parents, deliver training and education for professionals, and lead a task force dedicated to identifying and addressing local challenges. To carry out this work, we partnered with Perinatal Support Washington for technical assistance and training support.
PMHI aims to increase awareness about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, strengthen community capacity, and provide resources for parents experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Support groups are a great way to meet other parents, address challenges you may face, gain perspective and strength, and get connected to other resources. Our groups provide a non-judgmental space to explore and validate your feelings. Our support group leaders are trained in group peer support, are parents themselves, and have experienced a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder.
