Balladir - "Heroines"

Balladir, the folk-storytelling project led by artist and educator Travis Puntarelli, is proud to announce its newest production, Heroines. This one-of-a-kind performance blends original folk music with theatrical storytelling, shining a light on some of the lesser-known ladies of world mythology. With wit, quirk, and glockenspiel, we will illuminate classic characters including the Snow White Witch, Penta Mano-Mozza (the Italian princess with no hands), and the Old Norse Gunnlöð (the subterranean guardian of the mead of poetry). The show is educational and mytho-historical, but not over-much. Full of delightful lyrical vignettes and employing traditional vaudevillian gimmicks (including crankies, train whistles, and marionettes), Heroines will bolster your heart.
