Ruby Bridges Walk to School Week
Walk with Purpose:
Join Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
This event honors the courage of six-year-old Ruby Bridges, who, over 60 years ago, walked into a segregated school to seek an equal education for all children. Her simple, powerful walk became a landmark moment in history.
Participating in the walk is a meaningful way for our community to show support for creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for every student. Let's walk together for a better future where every child can learn and thrive! Walk to school like Ruby did and show your support!
Hot chocolate and coffee provided.
SCHEDULE
Monday, Nov 10 - May Street Elementary: 8am, 10 Speed Coffee
Tuesday -Nov 18* - Parkdale Elementary: 7am, Red Barn Park *Note: there is no school, Tuesday, Nov 11, so the event will take place on Tues, Nov 18.
Wednesday - Nov 12 - Westside Elementary: 7am, Westside Trail at the end of Rocky Road
Thursday - Nov 13 - Mid Valley Elementary, 7am, Odell Mobile Home Park
Friday - Nov 14 - Cascade Locks Elementary, 7am, Kaile’a Coffee Co at 101 Wa Na Pa Street

Únete al Día de Caminar a la Escuela de Ruby Bridges
Este evento honra el valor de Ruby Bridges, una niña de seis años que, hace más de 60 años, caminó hacia una escuela segregada en busca de una educación igual para todos los niños. Su sencilla y poderosa caminata se convirtió en un momento histórico.
Participar en esta caminata es una manera significativa para que nuestra comunidad muestre su apoyo a la creación de un entorno seguro, acogedor e inclusivo para cada estudiante. ¡Caminemos juntos hacia un futuro mejor donde cada niño pueda aprender y prosperar! ¡Camina a la escuela como lo hizo Ruby y muestra tu apoyo!
Se ofrecerá chocolate caliente y café.

Nota: No hay clases el martes 11 de noviembre, por lo que el evento se realizará el martes 18 de noviembre.
