Welcome to Mt. Hood Meadows' Wilderness Adventure Youth Camp, where kids ages 7-14 enjoy an amazing three days in nature, sparking their curiosity and excitement about the ecosystems around them. Our program teaches important outdoor skills, such as reading maps, packing for the wilderness, and basic wilderness survival, including age-appropriate Wilderness First Aid. Through hands-on activities, campers learn how to build a snow cave, find or melt snow for water, make fires, cook, carve, and craft—all while forming lasting connections with the natural world.
At Wilderness Adventure Camp, we believe every child needs challenges and the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone to grow. We focus on making the outdoors enjoyable, welcoming, and safe, helping campers build confidence and independence. Our trained outdoor educators guide the kids, encouraging them to make decisions in a safe environment, which promotes personal growth and healthy risk-taking.
Our wilderness instructors are passionate educators dedicated to working with students outdoors and strive to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere that blends modern and traditional ways of engaging with nature and fostering belonging.
Join us at the Mt. Hood Meadows Wilderness Adventure Youth Camp, where kids can simply be kids, exploring the wonders of nature one snowshoe trek, hand-carved spoon, and spark of fire at a time!
