Little Oak Montessori School is an independent Montessori school in White Salmon, WA, serving families from both Oregon and Washington. We currently serve 100 students across Children’s House and Elementary. Our Elementary program is the heart of our school, and we are actively working towards expanding through Grade 8 in the coming years.
Our Elementary program (ages 6–12 / Grades 1–6) offers a mixed-age classroom where students engage in hands-on, project-based learning that builds strong academic foundations, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership. Students take increasing ownership of their learning through research, problem-solving, presentations, and meaningful work both inside and outside the classroom.
Programs Offered:
Parent Toddler Classes (ages 18-36 months): Six-week sessions held in Spring & Fall designed to help parents learn about their child’s development and natural desire to explore the world
Children’s House (ages 3–6 / PreK–Kindergarten): Mixed-age Montessori classrooms focused on independence, foundational academics, and social development
Elementary Program (ages 6–12 / Grades 1–6): Mixed-age Montessori classroom emphasizing academic rigor, leadership, collaboration, and real-world learning
Summer Camp at Little Oak Montessori
Our nature-based summer camps invite children to discover, build, create, and explore outdoors while developing confidence, independence, and curiosity. Details released seasonally.
Founded in 2004, Little Oak Montessori School began when a group of dedicated parents came together to create a more individualized learning environment for their children. Their vision and volunteer-driven commitment grew into the school we are today—rooted in child-centered education and community. From the start, parent involvement helped keep tuition affordable and fostered a strong sense of connection among families in the Columbia River Gorge.
